Steven Hodas leads Digital Promise’s Innovation Cluster Network. He was most recently executive director at the New York City Department of Education’s Office of Innovation, where he launched InnovateNYCSchools. He is currently practitioner-in-residence at the Center on Reinventing Public Education.
We at Digital Promise are excited to announce our annual Education Innovation Clusters Convening to be held in Chicago, August 11-12. This year, the convening will be co-hosted by LEAP Innovations and 1871. We will also be joined by our partners at the U.S. Department of Education.
Education Innovation Clusters bring together a range of education stakeholders in a given region, including teachers and administrators, ed-tech developers, investors, funders, policymakers, researchers, and community organizations. These partners collaborate across traditional silos to foster breakthrough learning practices and bring innovative digital tools to bear on education’s most pressing challenges.
The convening in Chicago will bring together cluster organizations representing urban, suburban, and rural communities from around the country. Panels, working sessions, and discussions will cover a mix of cluster theory and practice, including:
