Can Workers Learn Basic Skills on Their Phones?

When low-skilled workers have access to quality education and training, great things can happen. Too often, however, because many of these workers hold down several jobs, rely solely on public transportation, and have childcare responsibilities, they miss out on many of the in-person classes available to them. Technology has the potential to give them anytime, anywhere access to learning opportunities and help them acquire the skills they need to advance in their jobs.

This video tells the story of how one organization, California Long Term Care Education Center (CLTCEC), is providing a new cell-phone-based way for home health care workers to learn the English they need to take the next step in their careers.
