Providing a personal learning device to students: Mesa Public Schools provides every high school student with access to a digital learning device and emphasizes innovative instruction to ensure that the needs of every student are met.
Capitalizing on teacher leadership: The district holds a Tech Expo, designed to give teachers exposure to the best apps and tools out there, and awards 10 to 20 mini-grants to teams of teachers who have come together to pilot innovative tools and practices in the district.
Developing STEM-specific diplomas: The Advanced STEM program is an innovative model blending honors and Advanced Placement curricula through project-based learning experienced in Biomedical Science, Biotechnology, and Engineering, where students work toward earning an Advanced STEM diploma.
