K-12 Students with Access to a Personal School-provided Device (1:1)
Providing all students with learning devices: Through a digital conversion initiative, Mooresville Graded School District provides every K-1 student with an iPad for their use at school, grades 2-3 with a MacBook Air, and grades 4-12 with a Macbook Air for use at school and home, which has shown an increase in student math, literacy, and science proficiency.
Implementing gateway/capstone projects: At the end of every grade span (3rd, 6th, 8th, 12th), students are required to complete a long-range research project to present to a broad audience in order to solidify their learning and prepare them for college success.
Expanding internet access for students and families: Through a partnership with local broadband provider MI-Connection, families can purchase Internet access for $12.95 a month. Free high-speed Internet will be offered to families with students eligible for free and reduced-price meals.
