$10,000 for a cohort of up to 15 faculty
Training
Digital Promise and the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) are pleased to offer a new professional development opportunity for administrators and career and technical education (CTE) community college faculty designed to prepare students with global workforce readiness skills while creating more engaging classroom environments. In this training, A cohort of 10 to 15 educators from a community college participate in deep, sustained professional development designed to build durable, globally relevant skills. Faculty meet in synchronous online sessions led by experts, coaches, and mentors to learn about:
Throughout the training, educators have opportunities to network, collaborate, and learn from each other. Upon completion, each faculty member will have updated at least one course to incorporate international content and employability skills that more deeply engage students while meeting required standards. During the following semester, as updated courses are taught, faculty will receive monthly coaching and support through optional office hours.
It was a very practical course that was able to help me deliver a product to improve my course within 4 weeks!
I would say we're going from this opportunity and the interest with these faculty to now we're creating systematic processes by which we can build on this and bring in new faculty cohorts starting next year.
The faculty who went through the [Digital Promise program] are in the process of developing a few more assignments to meet the criteria that we have for how much of the course should have a global focus. But even those faculty want to do multiple classes. Some of their colleagues are now coming in and wanting to participate. It has really, I would say in the past year, completely taken off, almost exploded in terms of interest.
