Step inside classrooms and school systems to experience innovation in context.

Part of League of Innovative Schools
Hosted by school systems within the League network, the League of Innovative Schools’ biannual convenings take system leaders beyond the conference room and into the real work of innovation.
By learning inside one another’s school systems, engaging in candid peer dialogue, and creating space to reflect and apply what they learn, leaders leave better equipped to make change at home.
League members carry conversations, questions, relationships, and ideas forward, connecting what they learn to the work they are doing throughout the year.

Engage in candid conversations with leaders who understand the complexity of system-level change.
Use structured time to reflect, question, and identify what matters most in your own context.
Leave with ideas, relationships, and next steps to move promising practices forward.
League of Innovative Schools superintendents are invited to join us for our biannual League of Innovative Schools Fall Convening, an immersive, peer-driven experience designed to accelerate systems-level innovation in the nation’s most forward-thinking districts.

League convenings are valuable because they move us from ideas to action—providing real examples, honest dialogue, and a network of leaders that push our thinking while grounding it in what’s actually possible for our students.
Offered every other year and designed exclusively for League superintendents, the fall convening offers an intimate, immersive opportunity for leaders to visit schools and observe innovative approaches in action, gain an inside look at the frameworks and strategies that enabled the host district to make them happen, and engage in candid conversations about how to move similar work forward in their own contexts.
Through school visits, members translate inspiration into action and leave with practical strategies, resources, and renewed energy to implement lasting change in their schools.
Together with their teams, members debrief on what they observed during the school visits and discuss what would be needed to bring similar approaches to their own districts.
Members gain insights from researchers, edtech developers, and fellow League members through interactive learning sessions that explore cutting-edge approaches.
Members build on the connections they made in the fall and throughout their League journey, forging new partnerships to further amplify their impact.
Offered every year, the spring convening invites superintendents and up to two district leaders from each district to a gathering focused on sharing, learning, and connecting with the entire education ecosystem. This intentional design allows leaders to step into classrooms outside their systems, create action plans with their teams to bring promising practices back home, and collaborate with and learn from peers across the country who are leading the way in innovation.

Every other fall, League members travel to our nation’s capital to meet with congressional representatives from their community. There, they discuss some of the top challenges facing their school districts and advocate for increased federal investment in education research and development.
League members can extend their learning globally through exclusive opportunities to participate in the Global Cities Education Network’s international symposia and study tours, in which system leaders, researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders gather for a dynamic four- to five-day learning experience in cities around the world. Attendees learn from the host city’s leading approach to specific educational challenges through school site visits, expert presentations, and peer discussions.
Join us at the annual convening of Digital Promise's Global Cities Education Network (GCEN), a unique international learning community of education experts and system leaders.
