Adult Learning Beacon Tour 2014

One of Digital Promise’s goals for the Beacon Project is to help spur the market for digital tools for adult education. But to do that, you have to know the people who make up that market — you have to listen to their stories; you have to meet them.

Before becoming the Program Manager for DP’s Adult Education Initiatives, I was a GED teacher. I worked with and for all kinds of communities over the years, and so I thought I knew what made for a solid program before starting on this trip. But after seeing just these three Beacons, I was blown away. I was surprised, pleasantly so. But isn’t that what travel is about? Being surprised.

Here are some great people I discovered. I hope they surprise you, as well.
