Today the White House announced a new legislative proposal to protect student data privacy. Digital Promise issued the following statement on these new measures:
Digital Promise supports the efforts announced today by the White House to protect student data privacy while ensuring all teachers and students have access to the best technologies for improving the opportunity to learn.
By focusing on data literacy for students, parents, and educators, clear guidelines for entrepreneurs, and confidence among all stakeholders that student data will be well-managed and protected, we can fully realize the promise of technology to support learning.
We look forward to learning more about the president’s proposals.
