The Gift of the Reset Button
Do you remember when you were little and you got to say “Redo!” or “Whoopsies”? I feel like our school is right there! Digital Promise and the Verizon Foundation not only gave us the amazing gift of technology with the Samsung tablets, 24/7 wifi and data, they gave us a RESET! We can change the way we approach teaching and learning. And, we ARE changing! Even before the students had their tablets, our teachers were blending the learning experience with more technology. The promise of leveraging technology to improve learning, reset old thinking patterns and practices.
With this grant, came the full time Instructional Coach, that’s me! I get to be a change agent! Meeting with other districts to gather resources and share strategies for best practices, and then sharing those treasures with our faculty. Recently, we were able to attend the Pennsylvania Institute of Instructional Coaching Conference in Penn State. The button has been pushed! Wikispaces, Backchannels, Twitter Chats for professional development, and Text Dependent Analysis, Oh My! The opportunities for our students and teachers to experiment with new and innovative learning is endless, limitless, and all apart of our journey! We are well on our way into the 21st Century. 3…2…1…Reset!
