A couple weeks ago, we asked students about their technology use at home, including what devices they used and how they used them. This is what we learned:
Students reported using an average of 2 devices on the day prior to when they took the survey. The majority of students (> 60%) used a tablet and more than 65% used a smartphone. Still, more than 30% of students reported using a game system and a laptop or desktop computer.
Greater than 65% of students reported using a device for entertainment. Approximately 40% of students used technology to help with their homework and nearly 45% used a device to communicate with friends and family. Finally, greater than 20% of students used a device to work on their own hobby.
