Mrs. Macgregor’s 7th grade science class at Washtenaw International Middle Academy in Ypsilanti, Mich. is working on an interesting challenge–can they convince the school board to build a basketball court at the school? The problem is that the planned site for the court is subject to erosion. Students go through scientific processes and problem solving to try and find solutions to this obstacle. They’re able to use technology to create models and illustrate their design plans while working collaboratively.
