At Meridian Middle School in Meridian, Idaho, Mr. Owens is trying to get his students to work to realize their full potential. Evaluating students individually and continuously allows each student to be recognized for performing to the best of his or her ability. Mr. Owens is giving his students ownership over their assessments by asking them to evaluate themselves honestly and on an ongoing basis. Did you put forth your best effort? What more could you have done? How could you make this better? These questions encourage students to think through their processes and revise their work to make it even better.
