Maia is an eighth grader at Edmunds Middle School in Burlington, Vermont. She is a talented documentary filmmaker, and is currently working on a new film about women in the industry. Maia was inspired to take on this project by an article she read about gender bias in the film industry. For Maia, one of the most important steps in helping her grow as a filmmaker was creating a production process and organization system to help her stay on track. By making films and sharing her creations, she’s able to tell her stories in her own voice and shed light on issues that are important to her.
