How can we get students to see the potential for a career in the STEM fields? Ypsilanti Community Middle School (YCMS) had an engineer from the auto industry visit the school to work with students on a design project. A local from nearby Detroit, he was able to provide a great deal of perspective to students and work with them on an engineering project. This was a great opportunity for YCMS students to work through a project and then see how that project directly relates to the real world and the engineering field.
