Since 2016, Digital Promise’s 360° Story Lab has supported people in using emerging and interactive technologies to create media that goes beyond the frame of traditional media and journalism. Through experiential storytelling and immersive design, creators and activists globally share their perspectives and inspire positive action on issues they care about.

Today, we’re releasing a new Screening Guide for the MY World 360° Collection, including 27 projects from around the world that aim to inspire action on the Sustainable Development Goals. From reducing inequalities, to promoting good health and well-being, to ensuring access to affordable and clean energy, the 17 Global Goals are a universal call to action to create a better world.

The new MY World 360° Screening Guide provides students, educators, caregivers, and learners of all ages an opportunity to step into a collection of immersive stories, and includes guidance on hosting a virtual screening event to engage audiences in reflection, discussion, and action on issues related to the stories.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll release a social version of the Guide as part of a Facebook Unit on the SDG Creators/MY World 360° Facebook group, starting with “Troost Divide,” a 360° video about an avenue in Kansas City, Missouri, that for decades has been an economic dividing line created by institutionalized racism and discrimination.

“We drove a mile across Troost Avenue in Kansas City to demonstrate income inequality and the difference a mile can make.”
– From the creators of the Troost Divide, a video featured in MY World 360°
