Byrne is a former high school social studies teacher. He taught for eight and a half years at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in South Paris, Maine. As a teacher Byrne piloted 1:1 laptop use before the program went school-wide. He also served on a number of curriculum and assessment committees. Byrne has been invited to speak at events all over the world and has received numerous awards. Currently, his work is focused on sharing free web-based resources that educators can use to enhance their students’ learning experiences. He accomplishes this primarily through his blog “Free Technology for Teachers.”
