Dao Tran is a secondary science/biology teacher and curriculum leader from the Peel District School Board, Ontario, Canada. As an advocate for marginalized voices in education, her current focus is to provide leadership practices that promote culturally relevant and responsive instruction and asset-based assessment that centered students’ identity and lived experiences. She believes that habitual conversations about critical consciousness with staff and students can change invisible colonial practices that demote inclusion and collectively build equitable school for all learners to succeed. Dao received her science education and teacher training at the University of Toronto, St. George campus where she obtained her master’s degree in science and bachelor’s degree in education.
