The Center for Integrative Research in Computing and Learning Sciences (CIRCLS) is a community-based hub of researchers who are exploring and investigating technologies that will be available to learners in 5-10 years.

Funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), CIRCLS builds community among researchers, practitioners, developers and other education stakeholders around the connected issues of emerging technologies, learning sciences, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. By working together, we can address common needs in education research and development, while creating a broader impact for all students.

Advancing equity is a core goal in this research: emerging technologies create a potential for dynamic supports that meet learners’ varying personal-, community-, and context-centered needs. CIRCLS also seeks to support emerging scholars within this community by maintaining the Research on Emerging Technologies for Teaching and Learning (RETTL) program area for NSF.
