Mia Gittlen is a middle school English language arts and social studies teacher at Union Middle School in San Jose, California. Her 15 years of experience in education include teaching in middle and high schools as well as three years serving as an instructional technology teacher on special assignment. She also managed local political campaigns to pass measures that raise funds for the public schools. Mia is passionate about amplifying student voice, media literacy, and maker-centered learning.
