The nonprofit ReadWorks offers content, curriculum, and tools to power reading comprehension teaching and learning from Kindergarten to 12th Grade. Driven by cognitive-science research, our library has thousands of high-quality nonfiction and fiction reading passages along with questions sets and support to build background knowledge, build vocabulary, and develop reading comprehension strategies. ReadWorks is offered completely free to educators and their students. It can be assigned by a teacher or used independently by a student. Students must have a device and internet access – low bandwidth (e.g. for email, web searching, word processing).
