Efforts to mitigate racial bias are intentional throughout the design. The product team identifies points of risk for racial bias in the algorithmic training, establishes processes for accountability, and uses specific practices to minimize or eliminate the risk of racial bias in design. Processes are in place to ensure transparency and accountability in decisions that inform development, educators are positioned to make the final decision for their learners, and the public can easily find information about the ways the product was designed to mitigate racial bias.
