Mrs. Calvo’s science class at Sabin Middle School in Colorado Springs recently tackled a unique engineering project–build a pyramid out of plastic cups. The catch? Students had to complete the challenge without talking AND without using their hands! They were forced to figure out ways to use tools to build the structure and communicate without using their voices. In the future, Mrs. Calvo plans to have students use their iPad cameras to record the project so they can learn from their mistakes and adjust.
