About Digital Promise

Graphic showing pie charts underneath a magnifying glass

Digital Promise is a global nonprofit working to expand opportunity for every learner. We work with educators, researchers, technology leaders, and communities to design, investigate, and scale innovations that support learners, especially those who’ve been historically and systematically excluded. Digital Promise was originally authorized by Congress in 2008 through the Higher Education Opportunity Act, signed into law by President George W. Bush, and formally launched by President Barack Obama in September 2011.
