About the Priority Challenge

District and school leaders play a critical role in providing support and solutions to numerous challenges that classroom teachers face on a daily basis. Effective leaders are responsive and forward-thinking, stepping in to allocate resources strategically and strengthen policies to offer educators the help they need, from interpreting student data to navigating instructional standards, frameworks, and policies.

Educators crave support and development that is relevant to where they are. They also want to know they are not alone in their work and want leaders to recognize and invest in them. If districts can provide pathways for personal growth and career pathways they stand a better chance for attracting and maintaining staff.

I ask questions and I stay on top of things, and reach out to my leads and principal, however, they assume I will know how to do everything they ask me to do without any formal or informal training… I wish there was a formal observation cycle that was structured either from the district and/or school system.
