Laura grew up on a farm in Southern Ontario, Canada. After graduating from the University of Waterloo, she moved to Georgia to work as a recreational therapist with adolescent girls at a residential treatment program. A couple of years later she moved to Wrangell, Alaska to work at a therapeutic wilderness program. She met her husband in Wrangell and eventually decided to become a teacher. She has two children and a black lab. She loves to run!
