To enhance students’ visual communication and design skills, students at the Learning Studio at Leadership Public Schools, Hayward designed visual compositions to illustrate the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Students started by taking a step of the Design Thinking process to illustrate. Rather than illustrating an abstract description, students created a visual depiction of what those steps and methods look like. Students then created a Photoshop composition on the Sprout in which they designed a poster that combined the UN Sustainable Development Goals graphics with their digital illustration. The posters will be placed around the school to create a conversation about what the UN Sustainable Development Goals are and how students can contribute to achieving them.
