Digital Promise researchers created evidence-based, math-specific resources to help coaches and teachers deliver high-quality mathematics instruction.
When students have access to high-quality mathematics instruction (HQMI), they can develop a deeper understanding of math—leading to better math outcomes.
To help teachers implement HQMI, math education researchers at Digital Promise partnered with coaches and middle school math teachers to co-design, implement, and evaluate an instructional coaching program. The program helps practitioners promote conceptual understanding and conduct formative assessment with technology to support learners in their math classrooms, including those testing behind in grade level math.
Through this five-year process, the project team:
The resulting resources equip math teachers, coaches, and educational leaders with practitioner-informed, research-based tools for implementing HQMI with technology. With these tools, educators can help all learners—including those who may be testing behind in grade-level math—have access to high-quality instruction.
