Digital Promise is collaborating with Southern New Hampshire University on research and evaluation around a novel competency-based education (CBE) program designed for traditional age college students. The project compares CBE students’ social and academic engagement and learning outcomes to those of students taking regular on-campus courses.
Competency-based education (CBE) has become increasingly popular among colleges and universities wishing to make higher education more available and affordable to those seeking a postsecondary degree. The online delivery and lower costs associated with CBE enables individuals to complete an associate degree much faster and at a lower cost than they could in a traditional campus program.
