Our Global Education practice aims to unlock the potential of all learners to thrive in a global society in a few key ways:
Through four of our current global initiatives, we are promoting human agency in an automated world by tapping into “the power of education to equip individuals and communities to navigate, understand and influence technological advancement.”
Hosted and designed by Ceibal and Digital Promise, the Future of Tech-Enabled Learning Implementation Cohort focuses on effective strategies to transform education using new technologies and pedagogical practices. This initiative brings together teams from Digital Promise’s League of Innovative Schools and Global Cities Education Network (GCEN), along with Digital Promise and Ceibal partners across Latin America, including Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Honduras, and Peru.
Participants are engaging in virtual professional development in English and Spanish, which explores topics ranging from AI literacy and policy to digital competencies for leaders, educators, and learners. In May 2025, they will have the opportunity to join a culminating study tour in Montevideo, Uruguay, where they will visit schools and engage in facilitated activities focused on pedagogy, leadership, training, and equity, with a particular emphasis on AI and emerging technologies. This immersive experience offers district and school leaders a unique opportunity to learn from diverse educational contexts and apply new strategies to enhance their own systems.
Digital Promise’s Learner Variability Project (LVP) provides research-based resources and strategies to educators to ensure that each student can meet their potential in school and beyond. The centerpiece of LVP is the Learner Variability Navigator (LVN), a technology tool that helps educators understand research across a whole child framework and, through LVN strategies, apply it in classrooms to address the strengths and challenges of each individual learner. Since 2018, the LVN has been widely used by educators and leaders around the world, including across Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, North America, and Oceania.
To facilitate use of the LVN content across various platforms and contexts, Digital Promise is partnering with Mentu—a digital learning ecosystem dedicated to closing the learning gap across Latin America—to leverage our recently developed API to translate the LVN content into Spanish and weave it into Shaia, Mentu’s AI-powered tool for educators. Through this partnership, educators in Colombia, Peru, the Dominican Republic, and beyond will have instant access to relevant, research-based resources to improve their teaching practice and better meet the needs of their learners.
The YouthMADE Festival is Digital Promise’s global celebration of youth creativity and innovation, showcasing student-led projects by creators and changemakers around the world. The YouthMADE Festival highlights the importance of young people having opportunities to create, particularly when it helps them gain literacy with new and emerging technologies.
One example of this is from high school graduates João Pedro S. and Renzo H. in Brazil who are creating Gestus, an AI-powered tool that teaches sign language. “AI is very flexible in terms of applicability. We’re facing a revolution in the way software is made right now, and the advancements [depend] on people’s ability to create new things. And if I would pick an age group that concentrates creativity, it would be young people,” João said.
The HP AI Teacher Academy course empowers educators worldwide to learn more about the power of generative AI in their classrooms. Currently offered in English, Italian, and Japanese, this free, self-paced course is designed with inclusivity in mind, ensuring teachers across diverse regions and contexts can access practical tools and strategies to integrate AI into their teaching. With modules covering topics like AI fundamentals, prompt engineering, ethics, and strategies for using AI in instructional planning and assessment, educators gain actionable knowledge to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
The global reach of this course is growing to more than 100 countries, highlighting the shared desire of educators around the world to prepare their students for the future of innovative technology. Beyond the course, educators are invited to connect through the AI Education Exchange, a LinkedIn community powered by HP and Digital Promise. This space enables collaboration with peers, shared learning, and opportunities to stay updated on emerging trends in generative AI for education. With support from this community, educators across the world are not only learning together, but also shaping best teaching practices.
