Providing online courses: Virtual Loudoun offers online courses using content that is aligned to the Virginia Standards of Learning to offer new educational opportunities to students.

Implementing a Bring-Your-Own-Technology (BYOT) program: Loudoun County Public Schools has implemented a BYOT program, which encourages students to bring their personal technology tools to school for learning. Students use devices to find new ways to collaborate and interact with their teachers and peers to do research, solve complex problems, create original products, and publish their work.

Creating a digital sharing platform for students: Through the Loudoun Creates initiative, students transition from consumers of digital content to creators of digital content, leading to increased engagement and deeper learning.

Planning a district-wide science fair: Students selected by their high school attend the Regional Science and Engineering Fair, which fosters student interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), encourages students to engage in research in STEM fields, and provides students opportunities to present their research to STEM professionals and the community.
