Congratulations to the following products for earning the Centering Students’ Diverse Lived Experiences product badge!

Digital Promise has verified that the following products have met the certification criteria and earned the Centering Students’ Diverse Lived Experiences product badge. These edtech products submitted applications that underwent a rigorous assessment process to certify that the edtech developers centered students’ priorities throughout its design and user experience.

To earn the Centering Students’ Diverse Lived Experiences product badge, product teams must submit evidence to demonstrate the following:

  1. The product can be used on different devices (mobile phones, laptops, and tablets) without diminished capabilities for student users.
  2. The product enables students with low internet bandwidth or unreliable connectivity to accomplish the same tasks as those with high bandwidth connectivity.
  3. Users with a range of digital skills are able to navigate the product. There are in-app guides, tutorials, or a helpdesk to support students’ use of the product.
  4. The product supports English learner users, as demonstrated by usability by students whose first languages are Spanish, Mandarin, and an additional language.
  5. The product is designed to integrate with other apps or software, including a learning management system (LMS) such as Canvas or Blackboard. The product supports user authentication beyond login credentials unique to the product, such as single sign-on or integration with an LMS or other applications or software.
  6. Research and development includes community college students with diverse identities to center equitable access to product functionalities in the design.
