Reimagining gifted and talented programs: The district’s investment in technology and teaching pedagogy enabled them to develop and offer a new gifted and talented program, which gives all students the opportunity to participate. The district’s previous gifted and talented programs limited students based on outdated, systematic testing practices that excluded many students. The new program focuses on Stanford University’s d. School Design Thinking framework, with an emphasis on community improvement. Through this program, the district is now achieving higher levels of academics for all students and creating an equal opportunity for all.
Supporting parents, family members, and guardians: During the pandemic, the district created a Parent University to assist parents, grandparents, and other family members in how to use applications and resources.
