Mentoring Program: We use mentoring as an equity strategy to obtain higher outcomes for students. Young people know that the world is full of challenges and that although potential is equally distributed, opportunity is not. KCPS offers a variety of mentoring opportunities for students whether it’s in our 1:1 programs or even group mentoring models supported by partner agencies.
Student Internships: Multiple KCPS departments offered real world experience from the district CFO, School Leadership, Facilities and at various summer school sites as peer tutors. In consideration of equity, students from all 6 KCPS high schools were represented as student interns in various departments across the district.
Kansas City Virtual Academy: KCVA is committed to providing an online education without barriers all the way from kindergarten to graduation. By partnering with our student’s families, we form strong relationships with our students and provide individualized support.
