Supporting teachers through digital transformation: Lakota Local Schools created a dedicated, district-wide digital learning team, committed to supporting teachers in developing the pedagogical and technical skills and the confidence required to shift to a modern, student-centered approach.
Engaging students in real-world engineering experiences: The district has a network of STEAM labs (https://goo.gl/t9KCtm), collaboratively designed and implemented in partnership with the district’s career technical education center, that provide learners the opportunity to develop skills in promising industries.
Foster collaborative professional learning: The district has implemented digital
learning labs at two high school campuses, spaces teachers can learn the skills they need to succeed at innovating in their learning environments. Additionally, the district is building a “Lakota Launch Pad” pilot concept in a junior high school to serve as a laboratory for innovative instruction.
