Offering coding programs and STEM opportunities for all students: Committed to ensuring students have access to diverse coding and STEM opportunities, the district provides the following programs: Girls Who Code, Afterschool Coding Clubs, Hour of Code Participant, Girl STEM Conference (student-organized, student facilitated), and Project Lead the Way.
Providing homegrown tiered professional development: All edtech-related professional development is created and delivered by two in-house digital coaches. Coaches regularly survey teachers to identify areas of interest and need. Based on these ongoing cycles of feedback, the coaches constantly reflect, refine, and redefine their approach in supporting adult learning within the organization.
Moving to 100% 1:1: To continue the success of their 1:1 initiative across 85% of their student population, the district is mapping out deployment and maintenance to move to 100% 1:1 by January 2020 to ensure students have the required skills to succeed in the future.
