Learn from this district about:

Magnet school availability – The magnet programs of Montgomery Public Schools (MPS) offer educational choices for children in kindergarten through the 12th grade. These specialized programs are designed around themes that focus on the talents and abilities of students.

Partnership with Maxwell Air Force Base – Maxwell formed a public education-focus group in 2018, established to elicit concerns among military families and address those with local system leaders. Their initial goals were to increase attendance at their on-base school, establish a streamlined application process for Montgomery’s magnet schools, and create more school choice options for military families. The group has hosted multiple education summits, opened enrollment to the base K-8 school to families living in the Maxwell FamCamp and helped change Pike Road’s separation clause with MPS to allow military students living on base to attend Pike Road Schools.
