Developing a STEAM summer camp: Over the course of five half-days, campers explore potential career paths through hands-on activities that mix learning with play, including conducting DNA analysis, building robots, learning to use Photoshop, and writing computer code.
Establishing a culture of learning through educational research: The CMU LearnLab at Montour brings K-12 classroom teachers and university researchers together for research collaborations, to introduce evidence-based education technologies into the classroom, and to take science and mathematics instruction to the next level.
Providing innovative learning spaces and classrooms through partnerships: The district offers a Minecraft Education Lab, Virtual Immersion Lab, LEGO Makerspace, Full-dome Planetarium (in collaboration with the Carnegie Science Center), AIU’s transformED West, UpCycle Makerspace, and more.
