Developing students as instructional technologists: Throughout the district, students use technology tools to not only obtain, analyze, synthesize, and present information, but also to create resources that reach beyond the boundaries of the classroom and to support others in acquiring 21st century skills
Bringing coding opportunities to underserved youth: Newburgh high school students from Excelsior Academy teach structural programming and coding for nine hours each week to younger students in the community at the Newburgh Armory Unity Center.
Creating mentorship opportunities with a local business: Over 180 Newburgh District students are paired with mentors at IBM who connect with the students weekly and provide them a lens into a field of their interest.
