Redesigning middle school: The middle school’s redesign model, “mBolden Piedmont,” has three main goals: advanced mastery, relevance, and student ownership. It builds on previous investments in infrastructure, devices, and digital content to create a blended, mastery-based learning approach.
Cutting summer learning loss: Piedmont City School District offers a Summer Virtual Academy, in which high school and middle students can earn high school credits in the summer with online classes.
Providing home internet access for all students: Through its “mPower Piedmont” initiative, which began in 2009, all students in grades 4-12 receive a laptop with home internet access.
