The Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycle: This approach allows the district to test changes in real-time settings. The PDSA cycle guides the test of a change to determine if the change is an improvement. This methodology is organized around three big questions. Each plan-do-study-act (PDSA) cycle is akin to a mini-experiment. It begins with articulating the change and recording predictions about what one expects will happen (plan); attempting the change and documenting what in fact did happen (do); comparing the results to the predictions (study); and then deciding on what to do next (act).
Innovative communications channels: The district is committed to reaching all audiences across the community. Through weekly “Rambling On” newsletters, they have been able to provide happenings across the district in real time. The quarterly “Rambler” is a comprehensive district newsletter that is available in digital format and social media platforms. It is designed to reach all addresses across the borough and globally. Social media is used daily by all schools. A universal handle has been created to ensure that each school is recognizable wherever and whenever content is posted. Each of the communication platforms ensures equity to access information using a variety of means.
