Exploring the Role of AI in Mathematics

Our report, “AI-Powered Innovations in Mathematics Teaching & Learning: Initial Findings,” highlights initial findings from an analysis of nearly 200 responses to a Request for Information (RFI) conducted by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Digital Promise. The RFI explored innovative approaches to using artificial intelligence (AI) in mathematics teaching and learning. The analysis centered on three key questions:

• What does AI in education look like today?
• What risks are associated with leveraging AI in education, and how can those risks be mitigated?
• What should AI’s role be in education?
