We are seeking workforce champions who want to build a robust, local talent pipeline by collaborating directly with K-12 STEM educators.
Who Can Join
Rural Workforce Leaders: We are looking for economic development officers, chamber of commerce leaders, industry liaisons, extension agents, or others who lead economic development in a rural community.
Community-Dedicated and Education-Focused Leaders: We want workforce leaders who know the value of education and are committed to developing their communities.
Leaders Willing to Collaborate with Educators and Researchers: If selected, you and an educator from your community will partner with a researcher, building a relationship that will last beyond the Envisioning Rural Futures project.

Compensation: Receive an $800 stipend for your time and expertise.
Commitment
Format: Two online workshops (4-5 hours each) held one week apart to allow for reflection and matching rural teams with researchers.
Dates: Summer 2026.
Collaboration: You are encouraged to apply alongside a local educator to form a regional team.
Future Opportunity: Opportunity to apply for additional funding to continue the work through site visits and pilot projects.
