Challenge Based Learning (CBL)
provides an efficient and effective framework for learning while solving real-world challenges. The framework is collaborative and hands-on, asking all participants (students, teachers, families, and community members) to identify big ideas, ask good questions, identify and solve challenges, gain deep subject area knowledge, develop 21st century skills, and share their experience with the world.
Digital Promise offers consulting services to help schools and districts build a CBL environment through professional learning and strategic planning. In a CBL engagement, Digital Promise consultants work with school teams and district leaders to implement the CBL framework in a way that complements the district’s philosophical underpinnings and goals, integrates 21st century skills in instruction, and supports the realization of the full potential of technology in learning.
All engagements use the CBL framework, and we will help you to develop a customize plan to meet the needs of your district.
On-site strategic planning with leadership team
Work with a team of administrators and/or lead teachers to gain a deeper understanding of the CBL framework, create a long-range professional learning plan and ensure it complements district goals, and review strategies for leading the implementation.
On-site workshops for educators
Learners will be guided through the Challenge Based Learning framework to solve relevant challenges and apply concepts and strategies to their own classroom instruction.
