Dr. Ashlei Evans
“I’m very passionate about bridging gaps between Africans and members of the African diaspora, so establishing and equipping sister schools and orphanages in Africa and the African diaspora is a goal of mine. Because of this, I am interested in learning more about the needs and opportunities to support.”
Dr. Ashlei Evans serves as a senior manager for professional learning with Verizon Innovative Learning Schools. She has more than 10 years of experience in education serving as an English/language arts and reading teacher, English as a second language teacher, literacy specialist, head of school, and head of curriculum. Ashlei has supported teachers and students from early childhood-12th grade within public, charter, and private institutions in Houston, Texas, and abroad in the United Arab Emirates. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from the University of Houston, a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from the University of Houston, and Doctorate of Education in language, literacy, and special populations from Sam Houston State University. Her purpose is to embrace, educate, and empower individuals to operate at their full potential and become the global change agents they were designed to be.
