Mahsa has more than 10 years of research, evaluation and teaching experience in the field of education, working with academia, governments, and nonprofit organizations in the U.S. and Canada. Her research focuses on coaching and socio-educational development of immigrant-origin children and English Learners, and she has authored several journal articles, books, and book chapters on these topics. Mahsa’s research on teacher coaching recently received a best-paper award from the Society for Information Technology & Teacher Education (SITE) International Conference.
Mahsa is also skilled in the evaluation of the effectiveness of educational and instructional programs and products. With extensive knowledge of both quantitative and qualitative methods, as well as formative and summative evaluation, Mahsa brings in-depth experience in partnering with tech conglomerates like Google to evaluate their educational innovations and provide rapid-cycle, actionable reports.
Before joining Digital Promise, Mahsa worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the UCLA Paulo Freire Institute and Institute for Immigration, Globalization & Education. Her fellowship was prestigiously awarded by the Quebec Research Funds – Society & Culture (FRQSC) for outstanding quality and significant scientific potential. Mahsa holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Education and Educational Foundations from the University of Montreal with “Excellence” honor.
