Creating a school culture of data-driven decision-making: El Segundo measures their success year-to-year through diverse measures like student accomplishments; parent feedback on topics such as safety, homework, and student learning; and student surveys about the effectiveness of their learning experience.

Engaging the community in developing a shared vision: The district holds annual events like town halls, a State of the Schools Address, and film screenings, which involve board members, leaders from the PTA, school officials, teacher associations, the education foundation, and the city, to build camaraderie, understanding, and voice into the district’s work.

Providing virtual learning environment options for students: The Arena School program serves students who may benefit from a lower teacher-student ratio and small school environment (less than 50 students) in an online curriculum.
