Learn from this district about:

Making parents informed consumers of their children’s education: Classes and workshops are provided throughout the year to parents and community members on such topics as 21st century learning, literacy, computer applications and technology, developmental assets (Search Institute/Project Cornerstone), robotics, habits of mind, STEM, digital citizenship (Common Sense Media) , and college and career preparation.

Giving teachers voice and vision in the district’s strategic plan: Professional Learning Communities are the foundation of the district’s professional development, in which teachers have the autonomy to collaborate with their colleagues and direct their own professional learning to best carry out the district’s vision.

Setting goals for student outcomes with the community: “Defining Student Outcomes” is an initiative that incorporated input from parents, students, teachers, and administrators and culminated in the identification and articulation of a framework that gives a holistic view to student and family-support expectations.
