Learn from this district about:

Providing time for frequent professional learning opportunities and collaboration: In order to support students learning at various paces, teachers act as “learning facilitators” to monitor and provide direct and tailored assistance to students. They also meet in teams weekly to develop “playlists for learning” and share best practices.

Providing 24/7 Internet access to all students so learning never stops: By working with private industry partners and local city officials, LUSD has ensured all learners have a device with internet access both at school and at home 24/7 through Empower! – the district’s proprietary Learning Management System (LMS).

Empowering students through performance based learning: LUSD students work within a district-wide performance-based system,  and each student advances through the curriculum once they have demonstrated proficiency of the required knowledge or skills.
