Kathryn Marinos is the Professional Learning Coach at Digital Promise. In this role she focuses on curating lessons learned across Digital Promise and the field and sharing them with interested schools through consulting services. She also leads the assessment of Digital Promise’s Deeper Learning micro-credentials. Prior to joining Digital Promise, Kathryn served at the San Mateo County Office of Education (SMCOE) on the Accountability, Innovation, and Results team. In this role, Kathryn led innovative education technology projects in San Mateo County School Districts. She assisted districts with advancing their strategies and practices to improve student learning with a particular focus on student data privacy. She also worked on the iZone San Mateo County initiative, a public private partnership with the Full Circle Fund to spur innovation across the county’s schools. Before SMCOE, she worked in the public education, IT industry and nonprofit sectors. She helped start the non-profit Jean Nidetch Women’s Center at University of Nevada, Las Vegas while earning a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She is very active in her community including the Parkside Intermediate School PTO, past board member of the San Bruno Education Foundation, and is currently serving as the President of the San Bruno Lions Club.
