The Global Cities Education Network (GCEN) is an international learning community of urban education systems. Working with Digital Promise staff and experts around the world, teams of system leaders collaborate to identify common, high-priority problems, research best practices, and develop solutions that can be adapted to varying cultural and political contexts. The HP AI Academy is a self-guided e-learning course designed to equip educators with the essential knowledge and skills to understand, use, and evaluate generative AI systems and tools. The course was created with support from HP and is based on the Digital Promise AI Literacy Framework.
This blended learning pilot program focuses on improving the capabilities of Haitian teachers to deliver high-quality learning using technology and tools; expanding the availability of culturally relevant, standards-aligned, Haitian-Creole digital content to teachers and students; and improving accessibility to broadband connectivity and electricity for schools and school networks.
This implementation cohort engaged Global Cities Education Network (GCEN) and League of Innovative Schools members in collaborative learning opportunities to share and apply effective global practices to transform education for students with learning differences and to ensure healthy social emotional development for all students. This implementation cohort supports school districts and jurisdictions to center their most marginalized learners, providing them with collaborative learning opportunities – including a study tour to Helsinki, Finland – and practical strategies and solutions. Participants include ten districts from across the United States (in California, Connecticut, Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, Utah, and Washington) and Surrey, British Columbia in Canada.

Our Teaching & Learning in Remote & Hybrid Learning Environments in Haiti (TRLE: Haiti) pilot has been working with local partners since early 2022. We are building the capabilities of Haitian educators to deliver high-quality, culturally relevant learning using digital tools in order to “leapfrog” inequities and close the digital divide in learning opportunities and outcomes for young people.
Our Global Cities Education Network (GCEN), acquired from Asia Society in 2022, is a unique international learning community of city school systems from across the world. The network seeks to collectively develop responses to systemic education problems, ultimately improving education for all learners.
